Grey-market diversion, explained
Grey-market diversion: Genuine products sold outside the region or channel they were intended for, usually to exploit price differences.
Diverted goods are real, not counterfeit, but they bypass a brand’s authorised distribution. That can break pricing agreements, warranty terms and regulatory controls, and diverted stock may be stored or handled badly along the way.
Detecting diversion needs to know where each unit was meant to be sold and where it actually turned up.
How Satyakod handles it
Satyakod returns a Suspicious verdict when a genuine code is scanned outside its authorised region, so diversion is visible without treating the product as fake.
