Brand guidelines

Everything an agency, printer or partner needs to use the Satyakod brand correctly: how the mark is drawn, the space it needs, its exact colours, type, verdict signals and motion.

01 · The symbol

Four parts, one seal.

Satyakod is a code that tells the truth about the product it is printed on. The seal says that in one shape: rings of code, a verdict at the centre, and proof that escapes the package.

  • Outer ring

Eleven segments of code, the pattern printed on every unit.

  • Inner ring

Nine segments. Two rings, so a copy has twice as much to get right.

  • Core and check

The verdict. Five modules that mean this one is real.

  • Breakout

Proof escaping the package, so anyone can see it.

02 · Construction

Nothing is placed by eye.

The mark is drawn on a 120-unit grid. Every ring, gap and module is a whole step on it, so the seal stays crisp from a favicon to a building sign.

03 · Clear space and size

Room to be read.

Keep empty space around the logo equal to the core’s diameter (x) on every side. Below 32 px, switch to the compact mark: full rings, no breakout.

04 · Colour

Ink, paper, one indigo.

Indigo is reserved for the moment of proof: the core of the seal, the primary action, the selected state. Everything else is ink and paper.

  • Verdict colours are signals, never decoration. Teal, amber and red always travel with their icon and word, and are never used for branding.
  • On dark surfaces, Glow is for shapes and Light indigo is for text. Glow on Night is 4.2:1, below the 4.5:1 body text needs.
  • No new brand colours. Campaigns may illustrate with other colours; the seal, buttons and links stay indigo.

05 · Typography

Geist for words, Geist Mono for codes.

One family, two voices. Codes and serials always appear in Geist Mono, so they look like what they are.

06 · Verdicts

Icon, colour and word. Always all three.

The five check modules re-form into each verdict. Colour alone never carries meaning, so the result is clear to colour-blind users and in black-and-white print.

Genuine

All four checks passed. The check breaks out of the seal: this unit is the real one.

07 · Motion

Every animation tells the product’s story.

These are the website’s live components. Each one plays, holds on its result, and plays again. With reduced motion on, each shows its final frame.

Satyakod=Truth Code

From Sanskrit satya, truth, and kod, code. A code that tells the truth about the product it is printed on.

  • Never wait for input. An opening animation plays by itself; scrolling or tapping only makes it go faster.
  • Always land on the result. Loops hold on the verdict so a glance tells the story.
  • Reserve the space. An animation must never change the size of its section, or the page jumps.
  • Respect reduced motion. Show the final frame, with no loops.

08 · Misuse

Please don’t.

The seal is a proof mark. Altered versions look like counterfeits, which is the one thing it must never do.

  • Don’t stretch or squash it
  • Don’t recolour its parts
  • Don’t rotate it
  • Don’t add effects
  • Don’t place it on busy images or low contrast
  • satyakodDon’t rebuild the lockup or retype the wordmark
  • Use the files from the logo kit, as they are
